Product Description

Product introduction

The brass hexagonal round head punched joint is a connector with a head that is a composite shape of hexagonal and round heads, with prefabricated holes (optical holes or threaded holes) inside or on the side. It is usually used for transition connections, branch leads or fixed supports of pipes, cables and rods. Its "punch" feature can be an axial through hole, a blind hole or a radial side hole. In the classification of fasteners, this product is often classified as a non-standard fastener because it has multiple functions such as fastening, conduction, positioning or sealing, and its appearance is quite different from standard nuts, bolts or pipe joints. When the hole position, hole diameter or number of holes is customized according to a specific assembly relationship, it evolves into a special shape fastener, such as a composite joint with a hexagonal wrench surface on one end, a round head guide structure on the other end, and a cross hole in the middle.

Product design and features

Design points:

Compound head shape: hexagonal part for wrench tightening, rounded head part for guide or sealing fit.

Punch form:

Axial through hole: used for threading, ventilation or liquid passage.

Axial blind hole: used for positioning pins or threaded bottom holes.

Radial side holes: for branch connections or venting.

Thread structure: Internal threads can be processed in the hole, or external threads can be processed in the outer circle.

Sealing structure: end face or cone seal groove, can be equipped with O-ring or gasket.

Product features:

Multi-functional integration: One part can simultaneously fasten, connect, conduct or position, reducing the number of components.

Easy to install: the hexagonal surface can be operated with an open-end wrench or a socket, and the round head part is easy to penetrate into the orifice plate.

Corrosion resistance: Brass material is suitable for water, gas, oil and weakly corrosive environments.

Flexible processing: suitable for multi-process compound processing (turning + hexagonal milling + drilling).

Materials and application areas

Material:

Commonly used grades: HPb59-1, HPb62-3, C3604, C3771.

Optional treatments: nickel plating, chrome plating, passivated or brushed.

Application areas:

Pneumatic and hydraulic systems: air block joints, pressure measuring joints, exhaust valve seats.

Instrumentation: pressure gauge transition joint, sensor mounting base.

Cable protection: threading connectors, explosion-proof junction box introduction device.

Plumbing and bathroom: multi-way water distributor, mixing valve connector.

Quality control and certification system

Quality Control:

Dimensional inspection: hexagonal opposite sides, round head diameter, hole position and verticality (using an imager or three-dimensional coordinate system).

Thread detection: passage and stop gauge, thread depth gauge.

Pressure/sealing test: air tightness test (eg no leakage at 1.0MPa).

Material analysis: Spectrometer detects copper, zinc, and lead content.

Roughness control: sealing surface Ra ≤ 1.6μm, the rest ≤ 3.2μm.

Certification system:

The general ISO 9001 system covers the production process.

RoHS and REACH certifications can be provided for export to Europe.

Use in gas or drinking water fields must comply with EN 1254, NSF/ANSI 61 and other standards.

When supplied as non-standard parts, full-size inspection reports and material certificates can be provided.

Customized services

Size customization: non-standard hexagonal opposite sides, non-standard round head diameter, non-standard hole depth and diameter

Hole position customization: single hole, double hole (cross hole or parallel hole), multiple holes evenly distributed.

Thread customization: metric, imperial, American, tapered pipe thread (NPT/BSPT), fine or coarse thread.

Assemblies: pre-installed O-rings, gaskets, dust caps or filters.

Process selection: Small batches use CNC turning and milling combined processing, and large batches use cold heading non-standard parts process preforming + post-drilling.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between brass hexagonal round head punched joints and ordinary hexagonal joints?

A: Ordinary hexagonal joints only have the wrenching function; while this product adds a round head guide structure and prefabricated holes, which can achieve threading, ventilation or positioning, and is a special-shaped fastener with complex functions.

Q: Can it be used in high-pressure hydraulic systems (≥20MPa)?

A: Ordinary brass material is recommended for medium and low pressure (≤6.4MPa). For high pressure applications, forged brass or steel couplings should be used and pressure grade verified. For high-pressure use, stainless steel non-standard fastener materials can be customized (such as 304 or 316).

Q: What is the position tolerance of drilling holes?

A: Conventional positioning accuracy is ±0.1mm, and precision processing can reach ±0.03mm. For non-standard parts, it is recommended to mark the datum plane and tolerance requirements during design to facilitate the evaluation of the processing technology.

Q: How to remove internal burrs after side hole processing?

A: Manual deburring, thermal deburring, electrochemical deburring or high-pressure water jet polishing can be used. For automotive parts fastener applications, it is usually required that the intersection of cross holes is rounded and free of residual burrs to prevent damage to seals or impact on flow.

Q: Is lead-free brass available?

A: Yes. Choose low-lead/lead-free environmentally friendly brass such as HPb62-2, C46500 or C69300, which complies with RoHS and NSF/ANSI 61 drinking water standards. However, the material cost and processing difficulty will increase, and it will have a certain impact on the mold life of cold heading non-standard parts.

Q: Can this connector be used for gas equipment?

A: Yes, but you need to ensure that the material and sealing structure comply with gas-related standards (such as EN 1254, AS 3688), and conduct a 100% air tightness test. It is recommended to use gas-specific sealant or raw material tape on the threaded parts.

Q: What is the minimum order quantity?

A: The minimum order quantity for standard specifications is low (such as 200~500 pieces). However, if it is a cold-headed non-standard part, especially a product that requires the production of a hexagonal round head composite mold, there is generally a minimum order quantity requirement (such as 5,000~10,000 pieces), depending on the size complexity and annual usage.
